Alexis Jenni is a French novelist and biology teacher who defines himself as a “Sunday writer.” His debut novel, L'Art français de la guerre, won the 2011 Prix Goncourt, France's most prestigious literary award, for “its graceful prose and its affirmation of a humanist ethic that condemns racist delineations of the Other” (Donald Reid). Alexis has also written essays, such as Son visage et le tien (Albin Michel, 2014) and Dans l’attente de toi (L’Iconoclaste, 2016).
