Maylis de Kerangal is the author of several novels already translated into English. Birth of a Bridge (MacLehose, 2015) won the Prix Franz Hessel and Prix Médicis in 2010 in its French version (Naissance d’un pont, Gallimard, 2010), while her novella Tangente vers l'est was awarded the 2012 Prix Landerneau. Mend the Living (MacLehose, 2016) was published to wide acclaim, winning the Grand Prix RTL-Lire award and the student choice novel of the year from France Culture and Télérama. It was long listed for the Man Booker International Prize in 2016 and was more recently shortlisted for the Wellcome Book Prize in 2017. Maylis de Kerangal also published, among others, Corniche Kennedy (Gallimard, 2010), which was adapted on screen in 2017, Dans les rapides (Gallimard, 2014) and A ce stade de la nuit (Gallimard, 2015). She was awarded the Grand prix de Littérature Henri-Gal de l'Académie française in 2014.
